Laid to Rest - Definately One Slasher Worth Watching!

Synopsis: A Young Woman wakes up inside a locked Casket with no memory of who she is or how she got there. But once she escapes, the girl will quickly learn the she - and everyone she comes in contact with is being pursued by Chrome Skull, an unstoppable maniac armed with a metal skull mask, a shoulder mounted video camera, and a ferocious appetite for slaughter. Can she survive one night and outsmart a technologically inclined killer, who is hell bent on finishing what he started?

I didn't know what to expect, when I picked up Laid to Rest in a clearance bin. I'm not sure if it was the design of the dvd cover, or the fact it had one of my favourite actress's Lena Headly (Terminator TV series, Remake of Robocop, Game of Thrones, The Brothers Grimm) in it, but that little voice inside, told me to buy it and I am glad I did! This would have to be one of the best, underrated and unappreciated Slashers I have ever seen.

Although this traditionally sticks with what you'd expect from most serial killer slasher story lines, I couldn't help but draw back to aspects of the 80s Slasher horror films, where, visually (especially the murder scenes and corpses) were made to inspire fear and that unsettling feeling in your stomach. The murders aren't hidden behind implications of, except for the discovery of his last victims on video tape. The settings are well staged, with high emphasis on detail, with no skimping on the blood and gore.

If you are looking for a good Slasher, without the broken or over complicated story lines, then Laid to Rest is for you and well worth the investment. It will have you gripped throughout! Thanks for reading.
